DESCRIPTION:December 9th\, at 9:30 AM\nThe Jubilee Churches of Gloucester\,
a coalition of congregations in Gloucester (including Apostles)\, will be
meeting on Wednesday\, December 9th\, at 9:30 AM at Bellamy United Method
ist Church.\nAnyone is welcome to attend!!\nThe Rev. Dr. Ed Walker\, pasto
r of Bellamy United Methodist Church\, and Pete Liljeberg are the co-moder
ators of the Jubilee Churches of Gloucester.\nJubilee Churches work togeth
er to prevent homelessness crises for our neighbors in Gloucester County.\
nIn September\, Jubilee helped a young single mother who works locally. Sh
e does not get child support because she and her ex have a 50/50 custody a
rrangement that she described as really good for the kids. She believes th
e involvement of dad is more valuable to them than child support. Mom driv
es an older\, paid for\, car that required significant repairs over the su
mmer. Those repairs put her behind in rent. During one of our conversation
s\, mom was door-dashing food\, a job she took on while she didn't have th
e kids\, so she could pay something toward the outstanding rent. Jubilee p
aid half of the outstanding amount\, Samaritan Group paid a portion and mo
m contributed from her side job.\nJubilee Churches had 12 requests in Sept
ember - 5 people were helped with $4\,028.50. The Jubilee Fund balance is
$9\,157.\nFinally\, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be January
18-25\, 2027 - there will be a joint worship service as well as daily pra
yer services. eld each day during that week.\nIf you would like to learn m
ore about Jubilee Churches\,\nplease contact Pete Liljeberg or Janet Gomez
