“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I shall fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy
staff they comfort me.”

~Psalm 23:4

Well… 2020 happened. I mean, who opened Pandora’s Box on that year? Well, those of us still here have survived the madness. I suppose it’s fitting that, in the Greek Tragedy of this new decade, we’ve all become King Sisyphus. The question is, what border did you learn to love? Perhaps you’ve learned how to proof Sourdough Bread, or learned a new language, or learned just how crucial teachers are in America. As we embrace this new year, I hope that we can look back fond memories. Take courage, for God is writing our story. As we contribute to the chapters in this great narrative, my prayer is that we glean wisdom from the year prior. The thing about having 20/20 vision is that it places everything into sharp focus. Every bright color and bent nail. What things should we take with us? What can we live without? Where could we do better? How have we succeeded beyond our expectations? We can look forward to this new year as the seasons unfold, revealing new promises and expectations that prepare us for God’s calling in our lives. We can look forward to welcoming the new Council Members during
our Congregational Meeting towards the end of this month. We can look forward to the seasons of stewardship with each come Spring. We at Apostles have had an extraordinary year. I am so proud to be your pastor throughout all of this madness.

In God’s Abiding Love,

Pastor Jeniffer Tillman, Mission Developer

won’t you celebrate with me
what i have shaped into
a kind of life? i had no model.
born in Babylon
both nonwhite and woman
what did i see to be except myself?
i made it up
here on this bridge between
starshine and clay,
my one hand holding tight
my other hand; come celebrate
with me that everyday
something has tried to kill me
and has failed.
