Dear Members,

In accordance with the Apostles Lutheran Church constitution and by-laws, a congregation meeting shall be called to establish the congregations' spending plan for the coming year. Here are a couple of items that need to be considered as part of the spending plan:

  • Will we be able to support our giving programs financially to continue to give support to those in need?
  • Will we be able to support our need for pastoral care in accordance with Virginia Synod guidelines?

These questions and more will be discussed and answered by your vote and deep commitment to the on-going financial giving to the mission of this congregation.

Our mission statement states: "Our mission is to be a caring and inclusive Christian community responding to God's grace through worship, service, and sharing the Gospel." It is through God's grace that we have the gifts we have and when we given financially to the congregation, we are giving out of gratitude for those gifts! The services we provide to others through our ministry programs are only achievable by your continued giving to the congregation.

Please take some time between now and the congregational meeting to review the attached proposed 2024 spending plan and prayerfully consider your level of giving. A vote of "yes" to the spending plan means you will commit to supporting it in 2024. Apostles cannot afford a vote of "yes" and then experience a reduction in planning giving. Each of you are an essential part of the Apostles community of faith and your continued support is needed and appreciated.

Please plan on attending the worship service and the congregational meeting, in person, on November 19th. For those that cannot make it in person, a Zoom invitation will be sent via e-mail beforehand.

In Peace,

David Leunig
Apostles Council President
