Apostles Members Speak For Those Without A Voice

Ben and Margaret Grimes and Pete and Betsy Liljeberg made a visit to Representative Wittman’s Yorktown office to ask for full funding for WIC, Medicaid and USAID nutritional and health programs. A member of Mr. Wittman’s staff was available. Margaret shared personal stories, from her years of teaching, about the importance of good nutrition and it’s effect on a child’s ability to learn. We shared stories from our experiences working at Bread for Life and GUEST. Betsy left letters written by members of the congregation that will be delivered to Mr. Wittman. Everyone felt that our time was well spent especially during this time when advocacy is so important.
