Pastoral Letter

ReconcilingWorks has released a new Pastoral Letter on the ongoing work of the ELCA Task Force and revisions to the Human Sexuality Social Statement, now publicly available on the ReconcilingWorks website. For more than 50 years, ReconcilingWorks has advocated for the acceptance, full participation, and liberation of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions within the Lutheran Church. As the ELCA continues this important process of discernment, we remain steadfast in that commitment. This pastoral letter shares our theological grounding, concerns about the current language of the social statement, and hopes for a Church that more fully reflects the expansive diversity of God’s creation.
