News and Updates for Our Community of Faith

It's a BUSY week at Apostles Lutheran Church- LOTS going on!!

 

- Pastor Jay will be in the office Monday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Thursday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Pastor Jay is also available by phone and email - 570-205-7506 and j80j84@msn.com. 

- Congregation Council will be meeting Monday at 7:00 PM - anyone is welcome to attend. 

- Jubilee Churches will be meeting on Wednesday, December 11th, at 9:30 AM at Bellamy United Methodist Church on Chestnut Fork Road - all are welcome!

- Choir will be rehearsing on Wednesday, December 11th, at 7:00 PM - we would LOVE to have you join us!!

- Preaching Guild will be meeting on Thursday, December 12th, at 3:00 PM. 

- Orders for poinsettias for Christmas are being taken from now until next Sunday, December 15th - the cost is $14 and a signup sheet is in the narthex. 

- Advent devotions and calendars from ELCA World Hunger are available in the narthex - please help yourself.

- Luminaries for the Blue Christmas Service are being made to line the entrance into the church for the Blue Christmas Service which will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, at 7:00 PM. Please write names of loved ones on the white paper bags that are on the table in the narthex. 

- Pastor Jay and Jamie will be hosting a Christmas Open House at their home this coming Saturday, December 14th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM - a map to their home will be sent out separately. Pastor Jay and and Jamie said not to knock on the door or ring the doorbell - just walk right in. There is also a big light display right past their home that you may want to drive by!!

- Christmas Play Practice will be held after worship on Sunday, December 15th. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Hodges. 

- Decorating the sanctuary and putting up the Christmas tree will be done after the worship service next Sunday, December 15th. Please help!!

- Christmas Gift Tree for the GUEST Shelter - remember to take an ornament from the tree, purchase the item listed, place it in a gift bag and attach the ornament with the item listed to the bag and place it in the bin that is in the narthex - thank you!!
